AWARENESS ACTIVITY
E- Waste Awareness
The E-waste drive collection was a unique part of our project. We put up posters in our respective societies spreading the message of importance of disposing e-waste in a proper manner. By doing so we spread awareness about e-waste management and also collected a lot of e-waste and gave it to a recycling company called Cerebra.
VIDEO CONFERENCE
The Video Conference was on 8th December,2020 at 3 p.m. IST and 10:30 a.m. at Netherlands. The video conference was held through zoom platform from our respective homes due to the Covid pandemic whereas our partnering school, Lorentz Lyceum School attended the meeting from their school.
Their EUMIND co-ordinator's name is Ms. Boogert. The video conference was between all teams of Go Green from our school and theirs. The agenda of the meeting was to introduce our EUMIND Go Green teams to their teams and exchange ideas about our school and cultures.
We asked questions about their cultures and the situation there because of the pandemic. They also asked us about our traditional foods and festivals. As Christmas was on the way, we asked them how they celebrated Christmas and the kind of food they made for Christmas .
The video Conference lasted for half and hour which was very much fun with the exchange of information about each other.

RECOMMENDATION
Waste management can be done more effectively at school if the composting and recycling can be done at the school itself through methods such as vermi-composting. The school can take many other effective initiatives to promote and maintain a proper waste management system in the school. For example –
- The nature club could be promoted to spread the awareness of waste management. They can make banners and posters about waste management and various other techniques to manage waste.
- The art department could be given more projects to make best out of waste and there could be more competitions or displays on the same topic which will be very beneficial in spreading the message of managing waste more effectively. Student can also portray their thought and ideas about waste management through various art forms of their choice.
- The school can discuss and take suggestions from the staff of the school which help in maintaining the waste disposal of the school. They can give useful ideas which are beneficial to both them and the school.
- The school can take part in awareness campaigns about waste disposal to educate the students and teachers about the need of proper waste management in schools and homes.
- The school can also initiate awareness campaigns to educate students about these important issues. The school can take help from the school senate council (the science and cultural prefect) and host awareness webinars to inform children to manage wastes properly at their homes and their respective classrooms.
- There are also many incredible and informative short videos regarding effective waste management which the school can show the students during recess, which will further encourage the students to take part in the waste management movement.

CONCLUSION
- In the first part of our project, we introduced ourselves through a short video, laid-out our action plan and also explained our logo.
- We conducted interviews with Mrs. Sudeshna Chatterjee, the principal of our school; Mr. Milind Rane, director of a recycling company; Prashant sir, the person responsible for waste management at school; four teachers and a few students via video conference.
- Awareness Campaign: We created awareness about waste management through a video conference by sharing a presentation on the importance of doing so.
- E-Waste Collection drives: Firstly, we created effective posters in order to convince people of our respective societies to donate E-waste. Secondly, we put up E-waste bins in our respective societies so that people could dispose their waste. Lastly, we collected the E-waste and sent it to a suitable recycling company.
- We conducted a survey through Google forms and circulated it across people of different age-groups and professions most of them being students.
- We received over 116 survey responses.
- We also had a video conference with our partner school Lorentz Lyceum, Netherlands where we interacted with each other in general.
